The second season of New Zealand's Next Top Model starts screening on TV3 this friday and I'm really looking forward to it. As I was living in Sydney for the majority of last year I missed the first season entirely. Although I did become addicted to Australia's Next Top Model while I was there and was delighted when the gorgeous Tahnee Atkinson won the top prize.
But back to NZ, I really do believe we have a lot of talent in this country in many areas, the huge number of talented people working on NZFW every year are a testament to that. I noticed an influx of stunning new kiwi models at fashion week last year and after recently watching old episodes of NZNTM from last year, I realised that a bunch of them were contestants on the show.

NZNTM like it's international counterparts is a great platform for launching new models into what is a fiercely competitive industry, and I'm sure we will get to see some beautiful new faces gracing our screens this year. I wanted to dedicate this post to some of my favourite kiwi models, some new and some familiar faces. Having spent a lot of the past couple of years working on fashion shows I've gotten to work with a lot of them and am always impressed by the calibre and professionalism of the girls we have here. I can assure you it's not an easy job and alot of it is definitely not as glamourous as it seems. I can't wait to see what this season of Top Model brings, in the meantime say hello to some truly pretty local girls.

I couldn't resist adding one last shot of one of my all time favourite NZ models who got her start in the 90's and is still modelling today ...
