Sarah Burton Weaves Her Magic For McQueen

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Well my inspiration for blogging has returned in a massive way with the truly incredible creations gracing the Paris runways at the moment.  What's not to love about some of the finest fashion houses in the world showcasing some of the most stunning garments on the planet.  Inspiring collective admiration, envy and sighing from fashionistas all over the globe.

Sarah Burton's first collection for the late Alexander McQueen's label was truly breathtaking and reflected her lighter, more feminine touch on his somewhat darker legacy.  Butterflies and feathers brought to life a collection of exquisite detailing, sumptuous fabrics and amazing brocades.  To me these garments look like they have stepped out of the pages of some incredible fantasy novel and complete with the intricate hair styles (see close up detail at the bottom) and must have butterfly shoes, this is one collection that sets my heart racing and my imagination running wild.
