That Incredible Emerald Dress

Keira Knightley and James McAvoy in Atonement.
As 2010 comes quickly to a close, I've been thinking about my favourite fashion moments of the past 10 years.  The outfits that have captured my imagination on-screen, on the runway, in photoshoots etc in this past crazy decade.  As much as it's incredibly hard to narrow down all those amazing creations, there are just a few that have really stuck in my mind in a way that is impossible to ignore.  For me, as I'm sure for a lot of you, Keira Knightley's exquisite green silk dress in the 2007 film Atonement is the on-screen outfit that blew me away and is forever ingrained in my memory.

Absolutely everything about this dress is complete perfection, from the brilliant emerald green colour to the sensuous flow of the silk when she walks.  Then there's the incredible silhouette with the subtle train and barely there back.  It is just so beautifully cut and draped that I find it impossible to take my eyes off it when Keira's gracing the screen in it.  She is such an elegant woman anyway, that the dress totally suits her and her character Cecilia to a tee.  What I wouldn't give to own this divine dress and look as sublime as Keira does wearing it.
