Too Cool For School

Tuesday, May 31, 2011

I'm never really sure of just the right words to describe Twenty-Seven Names, who are without a doubt, the cool kids of New Zealand fashion.  Their label has an old school charm and quirkiness that's quite wearable and pretty relaxed.  But it's also utterly girly in it's lacey, pin-tucked, heart-printed, reminds me of dresses I used to wear to school way.  Yet it still feels fresh, modern and on trend at the same time, see what I mean about hard to describe?

Anyway, Twenty-Seven Names' latest offering for Spring/Summer 2011/12 'Still waters run deep' features more pretty prints, ruffles and cute bow ties in a sweet colour palette of subdued hues, accented by the rainbow coloured hearts.  I think this collection is simply stellar, as it's fun and playful while still being feminine and in silhouettes I can easily adapt into my wardrobe and will want to wear again and again.

  1. I love the sixth picture from the bottom. Such a classic piece, yet so difficult to pull off just right. Terrific job here. I love that sort of retro style... Jonelle Monae (or however you spell it) wears these sort of retro menswear inspired outfits with high waisted sleek lines, gorgeous shirts like in that picture and my utterly absolute favourite... Brogues!
