The Duchess Effect

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

Her effect on fashion is undeniable, as the newest royal face, Catherine Middleton, has every public move photographed, her classic and feminine sense of style on display.  The Duchess of Cambridge is celebrated for her mixing of high street and designer labels, making her more relatable than most famous faces today.  The high street pieces she chooses to wear quickly become instant sell outs for those labels, sparking a run on pretty tailored dresses and nude toned high heels after her recent outings.

Taking a leaf out of the Duchess's book is local label Max who released the Duchess dress (above) yesterday, inspired by Kate's navy lace Erdem number (below) worn on her arrival in Canada last month.  I'm sure she would approve of this high street reference to her style and at just $159 it's an affordable way to incorporate some 'Kate' into your wardrobe.  As with everything related to the Duchess it's quickly flying off the shelves, you can snap yours up instore or buy it online here.
