Alice's Elegant Wonderland

Sunday, September 23, 2012

I was super excited to hear that Temperley London's new collection for London Fashion Week's Spring/Summer showing was entitled 'Return to Elegance' and was eagerly anticipating the new show.  Ladylike fashion has made a huge comeback over the past few years with it's flattering silhouettes and has meant that women are able to embrace looking like women with dresses, skirts and suiting that celebrate the female form.

The new collection by designer Alice Temperley was everything I hoped it would be and by far my favourite collection of the week.  With full skirts down to the knee, delicate lace inserts, intricate floral prints and beautiful twinkly embellishments gracing the runway, it was the kind of range that girly fashion dreams are made of.  I loved the gorgeous colourways used, with that stunning french blue, complemented by rich burnt orange, ivory, navy and black.

Glamourous dresses and chic wide-legged pants made for a 1950's feel in the best possible way, but the looks still felt fresh and perfect for today's women.  This collection is the kind of range that could be worn year after year and still be effortlessly beautiful.  Elegant, gorgeous and so very covetable, this is my dream wardrobe for summer.
