NZFW 2012: Blak

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Blak was one of my favourite shows from NZFW 2011, the collection felt really cohesive and romantic with just a bit of edge.  Those twig crowns, the scarlet lace and subtle ombre prints captured my imagination and meant I had to buy several pieces and have been wearing them constantly over the past few months.

For NZFW 2012 Blak presented another strong collection this time entitled 'The Black Rose' with a beautiful rose motif running through the range.  Fabrics were sheer and pretty, with lace and gorgeous floral prints toughened up by leather miniskirts and dresses.  The look was modern and sleek with gorgeous styling, I loved the intricately placed hairpins and dramatic eye makeup.

This collection was a definite highlight for me for it's sexy beauty and I'm excited to see it instore next year, in the meantime I'll be thinking about how to recreate their winsome runway looks.
