Ruby's Roitfeld Winter

There's just something about French women, they certainly have an innate sense of style and it's unsurprising that many of fashion's muses are French, including Julia Restoin Roitfeld, who inspired Ruby's new High-Winter collection. She's the daughter of Carine Roitfeld, former editor of Vogue Paris, and the New York-based model and art director is a fashion favourite for her chic street style and beautifully curated Instagram which currently has a following of 195,000+.

Ruby designer Deanna Didovich loves to use modern muses who embody the youthful and fashion-forward spirit of the label and in the campaign for this collection she's used four of the young women who work across Ruby's retail operation.  Ruby customers will likely be familiar with the faces of Ella, Elise and Megan who work in the High Street, Newmarket and Hamilton boutiques, while Frances works in the head office as production manager and all four have an irrepressible joie de vivre as you can see in these images.  The movement to use real people as opposed to models to give fashion campaigns a more relatable feel is growing and it's a smart move by Ruby to be utilising this approach, even better that these four are wearing favourite garments of their own choice.

But back to Roitfeld, as her love of leopard print is well documented and is prevalent in the collection to create the feline-inspired look that is oh so French.  This range is a bit coquettish but definitely modern and also has sports luxe elements which keep things fresh and very wearable.  As with all Ruby collections a lot of consideration is given to pieces that mix and match well together while integrating into the rest of the Ruby girl's wardrobe.  The striped garments, beautiful knits and jumpsuit styles are definitely my top picks from this range, although the lace-up black Orchid gown is such a gorgeous evening piece.  However, I'm most in need of a raincoat right now and the Romy raincoat looks like the perfect choice to me for the rainy months.

Ruby's High-Winter collection is available now from Ruby boutiques, stockists and online.
