Ruby Goes Botanical

Bedford Shearling coat, Serpent dress and Willow boot from Ruby's SS15/16 Nectarine collection.

Ruby takes a beautiful trip into an English garden for spring/summer 2015-16 with the release of their latest collection titled 'Nectarine'. Designer Deanna Didovich drew inspiration from a visit to the wonderful Columbia Road Flower Markets in East London and the work of floral illustrators Elizabeth Twining and Pierre Joseph Redoubté for this new range. It's not hard to see how a collection brimming with winsome blooms came from those ideas and there are a number of gorgeous prints from neon florals to geometric daisy prints, which are contrasted with stripes, spots and the most delightful lace that is oh so pretty.

The youthful, feminine spirit of Ruby comes though in these cute cropped garments, mini-dresses and sweet rompers, it's coupled with a sense of contemporary elegance which is evident in the lovely lace pieces and clever metallic garments. As you can imagine my eye was especially drawn to the sublime Gossamer gown (last two images) which is one of those dream dresses that you imagine flitting about in for special days of summer. Although I'm also adoring the Nectarine gown (4th to last) which would be my perfect summer party dress, and well it's all pretty appealing really and a great way to blossom into the warmer months.

Nectarine is available in Ruby stores, stockists and online now.
